In the right foreground is the Australian flagship, the aircraft-carrier Sydney, and immediately behind her is the cruiser Bellona, flagship of the New Zealand Squadron. The three-funnelled cruiser is H.M.A.S. Australia. The submarine Telemachus is berthed alongside one of the Australian destroyers and is not clearly shown in the picture.
