EXHIBITION FOR TOON MEMORIAL SHIELD

Entries and quality were well maintained at the fourth of a series of exhibitions held by the New Zealand Gladiolus Society for the Mrs W. R. Toon Memorial Shield, in the Winton Street Hall, St. Albans, on Sunday. The champion bloom of the exhibition and the premier bloom in the open classes was Firebrand, shown by Aurora Gardens. The amateur premier was won by Golden Beauty, exhibited by C. M. Clemens. The detailed results are as follows: Exhibition Type.—Open class: Three spikes. W. R. Toon 1, G. F. Roberts 2; two spikes. G. F. Roberts 1, W. R. Toon 2: one spike, Aurora Gardens 1, G. F. Roberts 2: One spike seedling, A. I. C. McKillop 1 and 2; premier bloom, Aurora Gardens. Amateur class: Three spikes. J. Hitchings 1. W.
