CAMPBELL ISLAND STAFF

SOME TO BE RELIEVED (New Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON, November 24. A site for a new meteorological station will be investigated by a party of Government officials who will leave by the frigate Tutira for Campbell Island to-morrow. The party includes Messrs R. A. Ewing (Meteorological Office). L. Clifton, G. S. Macpherson (Aerodromes Section. Ministry of Works), and A. L. Gardner (Department of Scientific and Industrial Research). Mr B. A. Melville, of Wellington, is to relieve Mr A. J. Matheson, of Milton, Otago, as the leader of the men stationed at the Island, and Messrs A. J. Conway and R. W. Chandler, both of Wanganui, will replace the present radio operators. Messrs R. M. Cummings and R. O. Pearson. The island's ionosphere observer. Mr H. Naylor, of Auckland, and the meteorological observer, Mr R. J. Langbein. of Nelaon. will be relieved about the middle of next year.
