MARSHALL AID TO BRITAIN
Gt>ODS PURCHASED LAST MONTH LONDON, November 23. In Qctober the United Kingdom received authority to purchase goods worth 48,500,000 dollars under Marshall Aid. the United States Economic Cooperation Administration Mission announced to-day. This was nearly half of the amount of 109,200,000 dollars allotted to Western European countries. Two of the largest items were cotton <15.200.000 dollars) and meat (12,200.000 dollars). Tobacco accounted for 8,100.000 dollars.
