ST. MARGARET’S COLLEGE

OLD GIRLS’ ANNUAL PINNER A record number of 150 members attended the annual dinner party of the St. Margaret’s College Old Girls’ Association, held last evening at the Sign of the Takahe. The 'resident (Miss Natalie Vale) welcomed the guests of honour. Miss J. Crosher, the headmistress of the college, and Mrs V. Utterson Kelso, president of the Nelson branch. Greetings were received from the Wellington, Dunedin, and Timaru branches. Miss Vale said that the association had had a very active year. She invited members to make suggestions which would be of benefit for the future activities of the association. With the formation soon of a branch in Auckland, the association would be the first old girls’ association to have branches in every centre, she said. Miss Vale also spoke appreciatively of the work of Mr J. Roy Smith, who has retired from the position of honorary auditor after more than 10 years’ service.
