BODY FOUND IN BUSH
MAN WHO FLED FROM POLICE (New Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON, October 26. A body that the police are satisfied is that of Dorsett William Bertie; who disappeared into the bush near the Akatarawa sawmill on September 9 when he was about to be questioned by the police was found in the Akatarawa ranges yesterday and was brought to Wellington to-day. There was a rifle wound in the middle of the forehead and a .22" calibre rifle was lying beside the body. Bertie, who was aged 31, was on bail on a theft charge which was to have been' heard on September 12. When the police approached his cottage at Akatarawa on September 9 he made off to the bush, taking a rifle with him.
