OUTPUT OF WHITE LEAD
NEW PROCESS IN AUSTRALIA Output of white lead manufactured by a process new to Australia began in Victoria recently at the Braybrook plant of Euston Lead Company (Aust.). Ltd. A post-war formation, the company acquired the Australia'! rights of the Euston precipitation process from the Giiddom Company, Cleveland, Ohio, United States of America. All equipment has been installed at Braybrook, and early production at the plant is certain. Enough pig lead for the company's manufacturing capacity has been assured by Broken Hill Associated Smelters. Mr E. Turnbull, chief engineer of the American company, supervised initial production. He says that the Australian plant compares more than favourably with any similar plant in the United States. A new issue to shareholders of 75,000 ordinary shares of £1 each at par will raise paid-up capital of the company to £375,000.
