MINING
LIFE OF MARTHA MINE NEW OUTLOOK BEING STUDIED A reassessment of the working of the Martha Gold Mining Co. (Waihi), Ltd., has been in progress since September 19 in the light, of the increased price for gold, and preliminary figures indicated ' that operations should continue into 1951, states the mine superintendent’s latest report to the company. Complete figures will be available by December and will be embodied in the annual report. While the balance of this year’s operations may show merely a nominal profit, states the report, work now being carried on should enable the company to “get off to a flying start” in the early months of 1950.
