IMMIGRATION
Sir, —Perhaps D. Robertson will tell us who the leaders of Dominion Population Association are; how many members it has, and who suggested that food production in New Zealand or elsewhere could be increased by adding to the urban population only? I sincerely thank this correspondent for his apt quotation from Burns as to facts being “chiels that winna ding” and submit to him the following in grateful return: “Arguments do not alter facts. In the end love —nature — earth —wisdom shall prevail. If you look out of the window of your mind, you will see nature growing, growing. It is the same now, or in a thousand years, and all our laws and theories, ideas, and arguments, must give place to that fact." Even these little newspaper discussions [not arguments] of ours may help in that growth, I like to think. —Yours, etc., H. T. WILLIS. October 10, 1949.
