CHILD SUFFERS SERIOUS INJURIES Serious head injuries were suffered by Julia Greenbank, aged 5£ years, of 269 Stanmore road, Richmond, when she was knocked over by a truck al 1 the corner of Stanmore road and London street late yesterday afternoon. She was admitted to the Christchurch Public Hospital at 5.25 p.m. Her condition last evening was serious. RIDER INJURED IN TRACK GALLOP (New Zealand Press Association.) GISBORNE. October 13. James Edward V. White, aged 19, fell heavily when a horse he was riding fell while being schooled over hurdles this morning. He was sent to hospital foi’ observation. It was thought the horse might have pinned him in the fall. The horse, Young Parke, an eight-year-old gelding, owned by Mr F. M. Gardner, of Otoko, broke his neck. He was being prepared for the Poverty Bay meeting this month.
