VEGETABLE PRICES
COMMENT BY MINISTER (New Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON. October 12. Experience in abolishing price control on vegetables had not been altogether happy, said the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr A. H. Nordmcyer) in the House of Representatives this morning. Retailers had not in all cases passed on to consumers the benefit of low prices when producers had oversupplted the market. Mr Nordmeyer said an instance had been reported of a retailer’s making 300 per cent, profit.
