FUNERAL OF MR MATIU RATANA, M.P.

There was an attendance of more I than 2000 at the funeral of Mr Matiu I Ratana, M.P.. at Ratana to-day. /_mong I the Parliamentary representatives j were the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) ! and Mr K. J. Holyoake. Deputy-Leader I of the Opposition, and all (he Maori i members of the House. j Tributes were paid to Mr Ratana bv ■ the Prime Minister and. Mr E. T Tirikatene. The latter referred to Mr Ratana as a son whom Mr Fraser had I guided.
