TAX AMENDMENT BILL
CONSOLIDATING MEASURE NEXT YEAR (New Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON. October 12. Moving the second reading of the Land and Income Tax Amendment Bill in the House of Representatives this evening, the Minister of Finance 'Mr Nash) said he hoped to introduce consolidating tax legislation next year, but the bill dealt in the meantime with several adjustments that required attention, removing difficulties from the present law. RADIO ACTIVE SUBSTANCES BILL AMENDED (New' Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Octooer 12. The right of appeal to the Supreme Court from an order made by a Magistrate for the forfeiture of radio-active substances or 'eradiating apparatus is provided for in an amendment made to the Radio-active Substances Bill by the Public Health Committee of the •House of Representatives. In such cases provisions of the Justices of the Peace Act, 1927. defining the ppeal procedure shall, with necessary modifications. apply.
