The Canterbury Caledonian Society’s •nnual competition began last evening in ‘■' e Caledonian Hall. Results were as follows Sword dance (1949 pupils): Kay Heissenbuttel 1. Sylvia Stace 2. Margaret Inglis H'chland Fling (under 14 years and not eligible for the 1949 classes): Janette Ellis L Jeanette Wise and Peggy Erridge 'eoual) 2. Highland Fling (open, and under 17): Norma Bird and Aeneas Chisholm (equal) L Josephine Pickens 3. Pining marches: A. F. Armstrong 1, G. Turner 2, N. Butt 3. Sword dance (open and under 17): Betty Wilson 1. Aeneas Chisholm 2. Norma Bird 3.
