TEACHERS AND “ SLANG ”
Sir, —Are teachers allowed to use slang in school? One day a lady teacher threatened to slit the children’s throats. The same lady teacher also said that a certain girl’s mind was only a stagnant pool and didn’t move until an object was thrown into it. In my opinion that teacher is only putting bad thoughts into the younger generation’s minds, which may cause serious trouble in their later years.— Yours, etc., A GENTEEL LADY September 29. 1949.
