TRAVEL TO EMPIRE GAMES
SOUTH ISLAND FACILITIES SUGGESTED (New Zealand Press Association.) AUCKLAND. September 7. Special travel facilities for South Island people to attend the British Empire Games in Auckland in February are to be sought by the organising secretary for the Games (Mr C. L. Cleal). A Dunedin man. Mr A. J. Parry, wrote to the organising committee that, according to the Dunedin Tourist Bureau, no extra trains were to be run. He suggested that special trains and inter-island steamers should take South Islanders to Auckland for the opening of the Games and home afterwards.
