HEAT WAVE IN EUROPE
LONDON, August 8. Several deaths from sunstroke and exhaustion were reported to-day _ M the result of a heat wave m Itaiy, says Reuter’s correspondent in Rome. Ihe temperature reached 96 degrees today, and there is no sign of relief from Italy’s three-month drought. Reuter’s correspondent in Madrid reports that Spain is having its worst drought for 100 years. Scanty rain in earlv July saved the wheat crop in the central and northern parts of the country, although it is Jkely to be below average. Aragon has been badly hit and Saragossa’s normal wheat crop is likely to be 75 per cent, below normal.
