ECONOMIC OFFICIAL IN SOVIET ZONE
GERMAN REFUSES TO RESUME DUTIES (Rec 7 p.m.) BERLIN, August 8. Mr Hans Krause, the German chief of the Planning Department of the Soviet Economic Commission for Germany, to-day refused to return to his P °Mr Krause returned from leave, and went immediately to the offices of the British-licensed North-west G ® rn ??" radio, in the British sector of Berlin. He said he did not intend to return to the Economic Commission because he was “dissatisfied'with developments. Mr Krause played a large part m organising the much-heralded two- ■ ear plan for the Eastern zone of Germany. The plan was launched on January 1, 1949.
