GENERAL ELECTION
LABOUR CANDIDATE FOR OTAHUHU "The Press' Special Service AUCKLAND. July 18. The Labour Party candidate for the Otahuhu seat at the General Election will be Mr A. B. Dixon. Mr Dixon stood unsuccessfully for the Rodney seat at the 1946 election. He served in the Royal New Zealand Air Force in the Second World War. Mr C. R. Petrie (Labour), the present member for Otahuhu, announced earlier that he would not be standing again. Nominations for the National Party candidate have closed, but the candidate will not be selected until later this month. The Labour majority at the last General Election was 220.
