KING’S BIRTHDAY WEEK-ND
EXTRA TRAINS TO RUN (New Zealand Press Association.) WELLINGTON, May 21. The Minister of Railways (Mr R. Semple) announced to-day that because heavy passenger traffic was expected for the King’s Birthday weekend, train services throughout New Zealand would be augmented. On Friday, June 3, in addition to the usual expresses, extra expresses will leave Wellington at 7.40 p.m. for Auckland, and Auckland at 7.35 p.m. for Wellington. A night special for Napier will leave Wellington at 10.15 p.m. On Monday, June 6. an extra express will leave Auckland for Wellington at 7.35 p.m. and a special express will leave Napier at 2.40 p.m for Wellington.
In the South Island, on Friday. June 3, in addition to the usual express trains, a special night express will leave Christchurch for Dunedin at 10.10 p.m. and Dunedin for Invercargill at 5.45 p.m. A special will leave Christchurch for Greymouth at 11.30 p.m. On Saturday, a special night train will leave Greymouth for Christchurch at 12.15 a.m. On Monday, June 6. special night expresses will leave Christchurch tor Dunedin at 11.2 p.m. and from Invercargill for Christchurch at 6.40 p.m. A special express will leave Dunedin for Invercargill at 5.15 p.m. Special trains will leave Christchurch for Greymouth at 6.40 p.m., and Grey mouth for Christchurch at 7.45 p.m.
