Press Association—Copyright) ADELAIDE, March 1Because of his outstanding form at Wayville on Saturday evening, Single Direct is now the outright favourite for the final of the £B5OO inter-Dominion championship next Saturday. Amarous, Bandbox, and Recovered are next fancied. Wagers booked about Single Direct on Saturday were £2OO to £lOO, £135 to £6O, and £lOO to £5O. Single Direct has now won £16,605 in stake money, including £550 for his Adelaide prominence. Two offers of 3000gns were last week refused for the three-year-old Tycoon, which was responsble for such a sensational race in the Pacing Derby. Mr Alan Matson, president of the New Zealand Trotting Conference, said that Tycoon’s performance was the greatest three-year-old effort he had ever seen. ‘ Single Direct will have his last race in Australia on Saturday. His trainer, E. Kennerley, will go home on Sunday by air. The next big race by Single Direct will be in the New Zealand Cup in November. His connexions- hope to visit Australia again with him next season for the inter-Dominion championships in Victoria. It is probable that Josedale Pointer, which did not race in Adelaide, will be produced in Victoria on his way home.
