Moroney drove home his claims for inclusion as an opening batsman in thb Australian team for South Africa with a hurricane innings of 217, including three sixes and 22 fours.. Scores:—Hassett’s Eleven, first innings, 204; second innings 196 for three (Hassett not out 79, N. Harvey not out 69)., Morris’s Eleven, first innings, 581 (Moroney 217, lan Johnson 42, Lindwall 73; Meuleman two for 27, F. Johnston two for 182).
