Redemptorist Order The Redemptorist Order had reestablished itself in the Philippines and Singapore after having many of its members interned and its property destroyed during the war, said a member of the order. Brother Desmond, who arrived at Wellington from Sydney yesterday in the Wanganella. Brother Desmond has been transferred from Newcastle, New South Wales, to Christchurch. All members. working in the Far East, except those of Irish nationality, had been interned during the war, he said, but there had been no loss of life. Since it was introduced to Australia about 60 years ago, his order had spread through the country and now had houses in every State. The special work of the order in places where the faith was already established was to keep it alive by missionary work.—(P.A.)
