PIGEON RACING
EAST CHRISTCHURCH CLUB A race from Picton to Christchurch run under the control of the East Christchurch Pigeon Club was held in gusty weather. Birds belonging to the following owners filled the leading places:—l. Crowther, 1062 yards a minute; W. Walls, 1058 yards: E. Taylor, 1056 yards: I. Jewell. 1046 yards; T. Ball, 1040 yards; W. Goslin, 1009 yards; F. Kither, 1001 yards. A race from Kaikoura resulted: —J. Jewell. 1201 yards a minute; T. Ball, 1157 vards; W. Walls, 1110 yards; I. Crowther. 1049 yards; R. Spicer. '978 yards; E. Taylor, 952 yards; F. Kither, 943 yards; J. Beale, 940 yards.
