DESERTION CHARGE ADMITTED
Thomas James Young, aged 17, a junior ordinary seaman, pleaded guilty in the Lyttelton Magistrate’s Court yesterday, before Messrs W. C. Cleary and F. H. Heal, Justices of the Peace, to deserting from the overseas ship Port Fairy. He was convicted and admitted to probation for 12 months.
