NEW ZEALAND ROAD RACE CHAMPIONSHIP.—The first New Zealand car road racing championship was held over a course of 105 miles at the R.N.Z.A.F. station, Wigram, on Saturday. The photographs show.—(l): The field gets away from a standing start as the starter’s flag is dropped. The winner, M. Proctor (Wellington) driving a Riley, is on the extreme left and the runner-up, F. B. Bennett (Christchurch) driving an Invicta, on the extreme right of the front row. (2): Proctor speeding along the top straight. (3): The only woman entrant, Mrs S. Lupp (Dunedin) in her M.G. -She gained fifth place. (4): Proctor leading the field into the top straight.
