SPYING IN U.S. ZONE OF GERMANY
EVIDENCE AT TRIAL IN MUNICH
(Rec. 7 p.m.) BERLIN. February 24. "Alleged terror tactics by a Polish secret service agent in organising an espionage ring in the United States zone of Germany were described today in the trials of two Polish nationals and three Germans.” says the Munich correspondent of the Associated Press. ‘‘They appeared before an American military commission on charges of obtaining United States military information for a foreign Power. “The purported confession of the ringleader, Theodor Szendielorz, a 34-year-old Pole, was read in Court. In it Szendielorz stated that he met a Captain Kamien, of the Polish Secret Service, who forced him to cooperate. ‘otherwise I would be dead or in Siberia.’ One of his jobs was to find out which Germans had relatives in Poland, and report them to Kamien. Threats to the safety of such relatives ( were used to enlist agents.” i
