TRANSFER OF COMMUNIST FUNDS
Sir/—Being, until now, an admirer of Sir Stafford Cripps, I was shocked to read in “The Press” his statements reported under the heading “Money Raised by Communists.” It sounds Stalinistic. There is no crime in sending aid to sick friends; and politics need not be dragged into the matter. The Communists believe themselves to be in the right as much as does Sir Stafford Cripps. I hope he has been wrongly reported.—Yours, etc., „ , ’ H.T. February 24, 1949.
