(P.A.) WELLINGTON, Feb. 25. Large fields of even class are engaged for the first day of the Egmont Racing Club’s meeting, which will open the Taranaki autumn circuit at Hawera to-morrow. Provision has been made to run four events in divisions, but they may be avoided in the Whareora Trial and Waipapa Hack Handicap. Betting is win and place, and favourites may include:— 11.15 a.m.—High-weight Handicap: First Division, Malimint, Now Then; Second Division. Morea Fox, Odysseus. 12 Noon.—Flying Handicap: Travel King, Bramerton, Cressida. 12.45 p.m.—Trial Handicap: Sweet Revenge, Beau Flight, Waimate. 1.25 p.m.—Egmont Cup: Lord Manna, Foxfable, Faultina. 2 p.m.—Juvenile Handicap: First Division, Hit or Miss, Beau’s Gift; Second Division, Lakeside, Pontresina. 2.45 p.m.—Tokaora Hack Handicap: Bella Mia, Miss Beau, Luminous. 3JO p.m.—Whareora Trial: First Division, Master McGrath, Stylish Fox; Second Division, Brightness, Proclaim. 4.20 p.m.—Waipapa Hack Handicap: First Division, Challenger, Brookland; Second Division, Revel Lad, White Diamond.
