EMERGENCY IN SIAM
ROYAL DECREE ISSUED NEIGHBOURING STATES’ AFFAIRS (Rec. 11.30 p.m.) BANGKOK, Feb. 24. A Royal decree proclaiming a state of emergency throughout Slam was formally promulgated in a communique to-day. The communique said that the measure was necessitated by the situation in neighbouring countries. It urged the public not to be alarmed, cautioned the press against publication of matter detrimental to She national interests, and appealed to the business community not to resort to hoarding and profiteering.
