CITIZENS’ ASSOCIATION
At a tea meeting of the women’s branch of the Christchurch Citizens’ Association, held at the Wentworth, yesterday, the speaker was Mr W. S. Mac Gibbon. who dealt briefly with transport problems in the city. Speaking of arrangements for the centenary of the province, he asked the help of the women citizens in the celebrations and said that it was proposed that additions and improvements to the museum should be the centenary memorial.
The president (Mrs G. H. Watts), who presided, in thanking Mr MacGibbon. said that members of the women’s branch of the Christchurch Citizens’ Association would give all possible help to the centennial committee. She brought to the notice of members the urgent need for seats at. the Pioneer Women’s memorial and said that a shop day would be held next month to raise funds to provide two seats at the top /f the Bridle Path and to equip a playground at Abberley Park.
