A ROAD LINK
Sir, —I notice the Halswell County Council is preparing to tar seal the road from Tai Tapu to Riversley and also to renew the bridge. This will leave a two-mile gap before it connects at Lincoln. This I believe is under the care of the Springs County Council. May I suggest to that body that it should do this piece? As I pointed out in a former letter, this is a main highway, the only connexion between Banks Peninsula and the plains, and much used.—Yours, etc., JOHN G. FIECKEN. February 17, 1949. [“lt has never been considered,” said the chairman of the Springs County Council, Mr P. V. Bailey. “The correspondent is not quite correct when he says that the road is under the care of the Springs Council. It is a boundary road under the care of the Paparua and Springs Councils.”! ■
