THE GREY RIVER IN HIGH FLOOD.—The Australian freighter Matthew Flinders (2235 tons) riding high at the peak of the flood in the Grey river at Greymouth at 10 o’clock on Wednesday night. When this photograph was taken the water was only 1ft 9in below the level of the wharf. The Matthew Flinders had all available mooring lines out and her engines were kept turning slowly to counteract the flood.
