KING’S PLANS FOR FUTURE
MODIFIED TOUR HELD IMPROBABLE
LONDON, Feb. 22. The King will discuss his plans for the future with his advisers after his return to London on Thursday. The extent to which he may be able to resume his normal activities later this year will be reviewed. There is no . support in official quarters for suggestions that a Royal tour of New Zealand and Australia may take place, even in a modified form, in 1950. Apart entirely from considerations of the King’s health, this is bound up with the political situation in Britain, as the King is not likely to be away in election year. The Lord Chamberlain has announced that Their Majesties will hold this year’s only presentation parties at Buckingham Palace on May 18 and May 19.
