ARREST OF INDIAN COMMUNISTS
ACTION SAID TO BE PRECAUTIONARY (Rec. 7 p.m.) BOMBAY, Feb. 22. The Indian Deputy Prime Minister (Mr V. Patel) said that the arrest of about 600 Communists in India in the past three days was a precautionary measure. ‘We would not lock people up unless we had reliable information that their intention was not only to organise strikes, but also disruption, dislocation, and sabotage,” he said.
