PAINTINGS SOLD AT AUCTION
Paintings in oil and water-colours by well-known artists were included in a sale held this week in the auction rooms of H. G. Livingstone, Ltd. The catalogue of 150 lots included v’orks bv P- van der Velden. Elizabeth Kelly. C. F. Goldie, R. Proctor, Menzies Gibb, R. Wallwork, D. Huie, Svdney Thompson. Evan Butler, Roy Dickison, H. G. Fox, Arthur Tucker, James Cook. Mounson Byles. and G. S Walters. "Windsor Castle” by Menzies Gibb sold at 18 guineas, and Van der Velden paintings brought from 71 to 10 guineas. A portrait by Elizabeth Kelly sold for seven guineas, and "The Bealey” by Roy Dickison for nine guineas. "The Steps.” which was unsigned, brought 15 guineas. Several of the better lots were passed* in, and a clearance was made of the less valuable works. ,
