YOUTH SENTENCED TO BORSTAL
OFFENCES AT TIMARU From Our Ov.n Reporter TIMARU. February 23. lan Patrick Hand, aged 18, of 52 Arthur street, Timaru, was ordered to be detained at Borstal for 18 months when he appeared before Mr E. A. Lee, S.M., m the Magistrate’s Court at Timaru to-day on two charges of fraudulently omittinc to repay sums of money. Hand was charged with receiving £ 1 17s 6d on February 4 and £2 Is 2d on February 11 from Kaj Olaf Mortenson, of Timaru. on terms requiring him to account for and repay it, which ho had failed to do. He was ordered to make restitution of the sum of £3 18s Bd.
