AID FOR LEPERS
FAIR TO BE HELD NEXT SATURDAY The Leper Trust Board, with the help of several Christchurch business houses, will hold a gala at the South Christchurch School, Selwyn street. next Saturday, starting at 10 a.m. The profit from, the fair will be used for the 8000 lepers in the South Pacific. A drive is being made for toys to be given to leper children. Toys may also be brought to the fair ground, where a large tent will be used to house therh. The fair will be officially opened by the Mayor (Mr E. H. Andrews) at 2.30 p.m. There will be a band, numerous side-shows, and all the usual attractions for children. By this fair, it is the Trust’s aim to raise £250. Through the efforts of “the Leper Man” (Mr P. J. Twomey. M.8.E.) and the Leper Trust Board, a new X-rav machine and a moving picture plant have been bought recently.
