EUROPEAN TRADE EXPANSION
DECISION REACHED AT GENEVA GENEVA, Feb. 20. Britain, the United States, Russia, and 22 other Eastern and Western European countries have agreed on a cautious programme for the expansion of East-West trade. The trade development committee set up by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe has decided to draw up a list of goods which are most lacking in trade between East and West. This will be presented to the Eastern countries at a meeting in Geneva in May. They will be asked to what extent, with Western help, they can increase their production of food and other raw materials to meet Western needs.
