CONSCRIPTION OPPOSED
A.S.R.S. CONFERENCE (P.A.) WELLINGTON, February 21. Opposition to peace-time military conscription was declared in a resolution adopted by the biennial conference of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, which is now sitting in Wellington. The resolution will be forwarded to the annual conference of the New Zealand Labour Party and the New Zealand Federation of Labour. The conference decided to support the proposal for an application to the Court of Arbitration for an increase of Is an hour in wage rates. Thie resolution will be forwarded to the Federation of Labour. The biennial conference of the As> sociated Society of Railway Servant® is the ruling body of the society. Itg meeting is presided over by Mr X A. Barton, the national president Fifteen • delegates are attending. They represent 15,000 railwaymen.
