PRODUCE CHARGE DISPUTE
Tribunal Likely To Be Appointed INDICATION BY MR FRASER (P.A.) AUCKLAND, Feb. 21. A tribunal is likely to be set up to arbitrate in the dispute between the growers and the retailers over fruit and vegetable container charges. This was indicated by the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) to-night, after he had held separate discussions with representatives of the Retailers’ Federation and various growers’ organisations. Mr Fraser said that there were good prospects of arbitration, the final form of which had yet to be decided. Members of deputations which he had met during the day had agreed to consult their full executives on his proposals. The acceptance of arbitration would mean reverting to the status quo until a decision was announced.
