COOLGARDIE SAFES
Sir, —There are thousands of these safes in use throughout Australia, where there is no ice. 1 used one in a hotel 400 miles from the coast, where the shade temperature is around 114 in the summer. I kept bottled beer, spirits, butter, milk, and jellies cold. During the recent hot spell here my butter was firm and milk cold. They are easy to make'and cost only a few shillings.—Yours, etc., A. HIGGINS. Sefton, February 21, 1949.
