GOOD FORM OF AUSTRALIANS

EVENTS AT AUCKLAND MULLINS WINS FOtJR EVENTS (PA.) AUCKLAND, February 20. Nine members of the Australian amateur athletic team performed with distinction at the Auckland centre carnival on Saturday. In the 16 events in which they competed they won 11 first places, six second, and one third. Four New Zealand champions, J. C. Grierson, J. D. Sinclair, R. McKenzie, and W. Heron, were among those defeated.

M. Curotta, Miss Shirley Strickland, and P. Mullins (who himself won four events) were outstanding among rhe Australians, but E. W. Carr ran well to beat Grierson in the quarter-mile, and D, S. Marks beat Sinclair in the outstanding race of the day, the mile. Curotta dominated the 100 yards, leading throughout. The time of 10 seconds was good because Jhe track was slow.
