SCOOTS’ FOUNDERS’ DAY SERVICE
About 700 scouts, guides, eubs and brownies from Christchurch central districts attended the Boy Scouts’ Association annual Founders’ Day service in the Christchurch Cathedral yesterday afternoon. The scouts and guides, numbering about 400, assembled at Latimer square before marching to the Cathedral. The cubs and brownies assembled at St. Johns Church. _ The service was conducted by the Bean of Christchurch (the Very Rev. A. K. Warren), assisted by Archdeacon E. A. Osmers and the Rev. C. E. B. Muschamp. Mr A. J. Scott, the county president, read the lesson. After the service the scout and guide promises were reaffirmed. Services were also held in other centres in Canterbury.
