SIKH CONFERENCE BANNED
INDIANS ARREST PARTY LEADER (Rec. 8.30 p.m.) NEW DELHI, Feb. 19. The Indian Government to-day announced the arrest of the leader of the Sikh Communal Party, Tara Singh, "in tiie interests of public security,” reports the New Delhi correspondent of the Associated Press. The Government, said that in spite of Tara Singh’s promise not to call a political conference organised by the Communal Party, which aims at an all-Sikh State. Sikhs from all over India poured into New Delhi, in response to telegrams from Tara Singh, to attend such a conference. The Government consiaered this “an open and resolute challenge.” and banned the conference.
