QUEENSLAND SUGAR
BRITAIN REFUSES TO SIGN AGREEMENT BRISBANE, February 17. The Premier of Queensland (Mr E. M. Hanlon) disclosed that Britain had declined to sign a 10 years’ sugar agreement with Queensland. He added that Queensland had a five years’ agreement under which Britain would take every pound of sugar the State could produce. He had assurred the British Government that Queensland could supply 500,000 tons a year.
