RETIREMENT OF MR F. A. SHURROCK Mr F. A- Shurrock. who has been instructor in sculpture at the School of Art, Christchurch, since 1®24. was bidden farewell by the staff yesterday. He is retiring and intends giving his time to private work, which his duties at the school have made difficult in the past. The students recently expressed their disappointment at his retirement, and thanked him for his attention to individuals and his interest in the students. On that occasion Mr Shurrock said that he had never wished to be a teacher, but once he had become one he could not escape.
