EXCHANGE OF CLERGY
Sir, —I was very interested in listening to the Archbishop’s sermon last evening about the plight of those Bathetic Christian leaders in Europe, fe appealed for funds. Does he think that is the best way we can help. It is deeds we want to-day, not words. In my opinion, the way would be for the Archbishop to organise a draft of our Christian clergy in New Zealand to exchange positions, say, for six months, with those clergy depleted in h ilth and strength and allow them to be built up with renewed hope and courage to go back and carry on. And perhaps the visit of these people among us would help us to realise how smug we are in this little paradise. —Yours, etc., z E. MURRAY. December 13, 1948.
