STANLEY TREATMENT
METHOD NOT KNOWN TO N.Z. DOCTORS
The Stanley treatment to improve the circulation of blood in the King’s leg is not known to Christchurch doctors or to Professor J. C. Eccles (Professor of Physiology) of the University of Otago. A leading medical man in Christchurch said last evening that he and another doctor had been interested in the medical bulletin stating that the Stanley treatment was being initiated. They had not heard of it. They had searched through text books and the latest publications but had not found any mention of the treatment.
Professor Eccles said that the Stanley treatment was not known to him, when “The Press” telephoned him in Dunedin.
A Press Association message says the term Stanley treatment is ,new to The medical profession in Dunedin. Several members of the staff 6f the Otago Medical School and doctors in the city were approached, but none had heard of the treatment.
