1949 “MISS N.Z.” QUEST

HONORARY DIRECTORS NAMED (P.A.) PAHIATUA, October 28. The members of the honorary board of directors of the "Miss New Zealand” quest, 1949, were announced this morning by the Dominion president of the Air Force Association (Mr R. J. Sinclair). They are Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Park, Mrs D. Basham, Messrs T. A. Barrow (Air Secretary), W. Clarke (general manager, National Airways Corporation). H. D. Christie (president of the Royal New Zealand Aero Club), E. A. Tarrant (New Zealand Junior Chamber of Commerce), H. A. Davy, R. J. Sinclair, F. E. Whimp, and K. W. Kilpatrick (executive director) . Mr Sinclair said this morning that the contest would be conducted on the same lines as the recent “Miss New Zealand” quest, in which Miss Mary Wootton was successful. The proceeds of the quest would create a fund for the establishment of memorial centres throughout the Dominion.
